Vertical Force Feeders for extruders series FZV

The Vertical Force Feeders FZV are suitable to continuously feed extruders with various powder products. Their typical use is in the plastic industry where mineral fillers are dosed in the extrusion lines for the production of tecnopolymers.
The vertical force feeders FVZ are also used in extrusion plants for the production of polymer-based varnishes.
The main function of the Vertical Force Feeders FZV is to densify the powders feeding the extruder in order to improve the performances in terms of production capacity and quality of the product obtained.
The vertical force feeders FZV are constituted by a conical hopper inside which there is a vertical screw with variable diameter and pitch. Thanks to the particular screw geometry the product inside is forced against the outlet of the hopper. Doing this the product becomes compact and its density can increase even 2-3 times.
The hopper outlet presents a proper flange to combine with the inlet of the extruder where the Vertical Force Feeder FZV is installed.
The vertical screw with variable geometry is operated by a transmission group constituted by a worm type gearbox and a three-phase electric motor.
Atex certified motors are available eventually equipped with a temperature probe and an anti-condensation heating devices when it is requested.
The shaft mechanical seals are made with shielded bearings and dust tight rings available in various materials such as NBR, SILICONE, PTFE and VITON. Air flushed sealing groups are also available for the hardest cases.
The transmission group is installed on the hopper lid. The lid is bolted in order to remove entirely the force feeder, extracting it from above, for the usual cleaning and maintenance operations.
The Vertical Force Feeder FZV has a lateral upper inlet with a flange that allows the coupling to a proper doser which feeds it continuously and regularly. Powder dosers can be used series CH, CHW, BH, BHW.
The Vertical Force Feeder FZV has a level sensor which allows to constantly feed it by regulating the dosing system properly. This allows to the Vertical Force feeder screw to always work with the same volume of product so as to obtain a regular and constant compression factor.
There can be an auxiliary inlet for neutral products generally used to clean the line at every production change.
The lower part of the hopper is made of two concentric cones welded together to form a water tight gap. This one acts as a heat exchanger which limits the temperature level that develops in proximity of the inlet to the extruder. The exchanger has two welded inlet-outlet sockets for the cooling water that circulates with about 4 bar pressure.
The Vertical Force Feeder FZV has two lateral brackets to fix it at a proper structure to predispose on board the extruder.
The conicity of the hopper, and consequently of the force screw, is determined according to the flow angle, the fiction angle and the compressibility of the product.
The screw rotation speed is a fundamental parameter of the project to obtain the compression factor wanted.
The screw electrical motor is controlled by a frequency converter. So it is possible to set the screw rotation speed corresponding the highest compression factor as possible in relation to the extrusion line throughput.
The most used construction materials are stainless steel Aisi 304 and 316L.
The surfaces in contact with the product can be simply pickled or also mirror-polished to facilitate the cleaning. It is possible to have the certifications of the contact materials on request.
The outer surfaces are satined 180 mesh. It is possible to have them also glass bead blasted or electro-polished on request.
The gaskets are made in dust-tight rubber , such as SBR or NBR.
The vertical force feeders FZV can be certified Atex 21/22 and Atex 21/21.
Electrical control panels can also be supplied including software specifically designed accordingly to the requested functionality.
